🚴Jaunt Bike & Sioux Falls Trail Safety Rules 1. Basic Riding Etiquette Always keep to the right of the trail to allow others to pass safely. Yield to pedestrians and slower-moving trail users (except when passing). When passing, do so on the left and give an audible signal (bell, horn, or voice). Stay safe, have fun, and always use your best judgement. Control your speed and be courteous. 2. Speed & Control Maintain a safe and controllable speed at all times. Slow down in crowded areas or around intersections. Always maintain full control of your bicycle or e-bike. 3. Crossings & Intersections Be cautious at crossings—look both ways before entering or crossing. Yield at intersections: cyclists must yield to through traffic and pedestrians. 4. Right of Way Pedestrians always have the right-of-way. Use extra caution where trails intersect with roads or other paths. 5. Helmets, Gear & Rider Visibility Helmets are strongly recommended for all riders, but are not required by law. Wearing a helmet can significantly reduce the risk of head injury. Helmets are available for purchase at Products – Jaunt Wear bright or reflective clothing to improve visibility. Use lights and reflectors during low-light or nighttime riding. Do not block the trail when stopped—move fully off the path. 6. Trail & Weather Awareness Watch for uneven surfaces, debris, and changing trail conditions. Adjust your riding behavior based on weather and visibility. 7. Emergency Situations In case of an accident or emergency, call 911 immediately. 8. E-Bikes & Motorized Devices Class I and Class II e-bikes are permitted and must follow all trail safety rules. Electric scooters, gas-powered vehicles, and other unauthorized motorized devices are prohibited on Sioux Falls trails.
