Problems on your ride? Being available 24/7 can be hard on our ebikes. Hit the "?" in the lower right of the app to report an issue. 
 

Ride won’t end or not showing in the parking spot?

  • Try re-centering your GPS by hitting the reposition triangle in the lower right.
  • Always make sure your Bluetooth is “On” for your phone or device.
  • App malfunctions can sometimes be resolved by closing and opening the app again. 

**1. What is Jaunt?**

Jaunt is electric bike sharing is a service that allows you to rent electric bicycles on a short-term basis within Sioux Falls City Limits. You can pick up a bike from one location and drop it off at another designated parking area. Rides do not need to be returned to start point. 

**How do I rent an Jaunt electric bike?**

To rent an electric bike, you need to download the Jaunt app, create an account, and add a payment method. Use the app to find and unlock a bike near you, then follow the in-app instructions to start your ride.

**How much does it cost?**

Rides are charged by the 1/2 hour. No unlock fees, just great rides. Rides start at $7.50 for up to 30 minutes. Rides will continue to charge as 30 minute increments until ended. 

** Do I need a special license or helmet to use an electric bike?**

In Sioux Falls, you do not need a special license to use an electric bike. However, you must adhere to local traffic laws and regulations regarding bike use. Helmets are suggested but not provided by Jaunt. 

** What are the costs associated with renting an electric bike?**

Jaunt rentals are $7.50 per 1/2 hour, then $6 per 1/2 hour after if you go over the first hour in the same ride. Each unlock will charge the $7.50 ride fee even if you do not ride the full 30 min. Check the app for specific pricing details. 

** Are there any safety tips for riding an electric bike?**

** How do I find and return an electric bike?**

Use the app to locate nearby available bikes. Once you’ve finished your ride, return the bike to a designated parking area as specified by the app. 

**What should I do if I encounter a problem with the bike?**

If you experience any issues with the bike, report them through the app immediately with the "?" icon in the lower right of the app. This helps ensure the bike is inspected and repaired if necessary. 

**Can I use an electric bike for long trips?**

Electric bikes are generally intended for short to medium trips. For longer journeys, contact us about private rentals or options for extended rentals.

**How do I end my ride and avoid extra charges?**

To end your ride, return the bike to a designated parking area before your time is up. Ensure the bike is locked by listening for the lock sound. Extra charges will apply if the bike is not properly returned to Jaunt Parking. 

** What if the bike runs out of battery during my ride?**

Electric bikes are designed to have sufficient battery life for typical trips. Jaunt bikes will not unlock if they don’t have sufficient power to begin, but power can be depleted over long rides. The app will alert if you are running low. If you do run low on battery, find a nearby parking station to return the bike. You can continue your ride on a different bike without making a new payment as long as you have sufficient time on your ride pass. 

** Are there any age restrictions for using the bikes?**

Users must be at least 14 years old with guardian permission. Check terms and conditions for specific age requirements.

** How can I contact customer support?**

For issues or questions, contact customer support through the app using the "?" Button in the app. We can assist with problems related to bike rentals, billing, or other concerns.
